Publication of “The 21 Rooted Steps Tai Chi”   .

This book entitled “ The 21 Rooted Steps Tai Chi ” has just been published by Syarikat  Penerbitan Ta Lian, Kuala Lumpur.  It is written by Master Tan Yong Pow – a teacher of Tai Chi for more than 40 years. It is a self-instructional book on a new form of physical exercise created by Master Tan.  It is a bilingual book that caters for Eglish and Mandarin readers. It is easy to understand as it is in plain language and is in a step-by-step approach. To further enhance the reader’s understanding, this book contains vivid photos and a high quality DVD which show very clearly the correct sequence of movements.

“The 21 Rooted Steps Tai Chi” is in fact a new and simple form of Tai Chi sequence of movements compared with the various traditional forms of Tai Chi.. As Dr. Tan Lay Peng, a medical specialist, mentioned in her foreword for the book, “ Master Tan has simplified it one step further by eliminating moving footwork in his 21 Rooted Steps Tai Chi. This is indeed a refreshing approach, especially for those who are interested in tapping into the health benefits of Tai Chi without getting into the more complicated moves. With no moving steps accompanying the postures, one can now concentrate on other vital aspects of Tai Chi like cultivating and mobilising the  ' chi ', maintaining perfect body balance and weight equilibrium and generally embracing the calming influence of Tai Chi.”

“The 21 Rooted Steps Tai Chi” competed for the first time at the 7th Hong Kong Wushu International Championship 2009.  It was performed by a team of nine participants lead by Master Tan Yong Pow. Their performance greatly impressed the judges and won them the Silver Medal in the Group Physical Exercise Competition.

“ The 21 Rooted Steps Tai Chi ” is a hardcover book of 10"x 7.5" and is available at RM48 per copy in many reputable book shops now.
